U.S. Supports Malawi’s Field Epidemiology Training Program

Nine graduates of Malawi’s Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP), supported by the U.S. Government’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in partnership with Malawi’s Ministry of Health, recently completed a 3-month rigorous training program where they gained skills to analyze and use data to guide public health actions and investigate and respond to disease outbreaks.  In addition, CDC-Malawi mentored two FETP graduates to investigate the ongoing cholera outbreak in Karonga district.  This is the fifth cohort of Malawian FETP graduates.  Learn more about CDC’s Field Epidemiology Training Program here:  https://www.cdc.gov/globalhealth/healthprotection/fetp/index.htm
