U.S. Supports Malawi Population-based HIV Impact Assessment

The U.S. Government, through the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), is supporting the Malawi Population-based HIV Impact Assessment (MPHIA), a new national household survey commissioned by the Malawian Ministry of Health.  MPHIA will examine the distribution of HIV in Malawi, assess the uptake of HIV services at the population level, and estimate the prevalence of HIV-related risk behaviors.  MPHIA will be implemented by ICAP at Columbia University and the Center for Social Research (CSR) at the University of Malawi.  See “press releases” on this website for more details.
