U.S. Provides Farming and Nutritional Assistance to Malawi

On July 21, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Malawi Mission Director Doug Arbuckle and Erica Maganga, Permanent Secretary of Malawi’s Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development, launched a new 5-year, $15-million project to provide farming and nutritional training and information to more than 1 million Malawian households.  The Feed the Future Malawi Strengthening Agricultural and Nutrition Extension Services(SANE) project is designed to help deliver the government of Malawi’s agriculture extension policy, providing farming and nutrition education to Malawians residing in USAID Feed the Future target districts of Mchinji, Lilongwe Rural, Dedza, Ntcheu, Mangochi, Balaka, Machinga, Blantyre Rural, Chikwawa, and Nsanje.  For more information on this and other USAID programs in Malawi please visit: https://www.usaid.gov/malawi
