U.S. Embassy Supports Malawi’s mHub

Ambassador Palmer front left and Racheal Sibande front left with female entrepreneursOn August 16 U.S. Ambassador to Malawi Virginia Palmer awarded a grant for $12,945 to the mHub in Lilongwe to train and mentor 40 aspiring female entrepreneurs with business and information communication technology (ICT) skills.  The mHub was founded in 2013 by Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) alumna Rachel Sibande.  Ambassador Palmer encouraged the young women to hone their ICT and business skills to become leaders in their fields.  She also urged the beneficiaries of this program to mentor other young women in their communities.
