U.S. Commits $148.1m to MW Energy

The Millennium Challenge Account – Malawi (MCA-Malawi), with funding from the United States Government through the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), has signed five contracts with five firms worth $148.1 Million total for the construction of 400kV and 132kV power lines and substations, and the rehabilitation, modernization and upgrading of the Nkula A Hydro Power Plant.  The overall $350.7 Million Millennium Challenge Account Compact Agreement between the Governments of Malawi and the United States of America is the largest single grant Malawi has received for the energy sector ever.
