Peace Corps Director Carrie Hessler-Radelet visits a classroom in rural MalawiThe Director of the United States Peace Corps, Carrie Hessler-Radelet, visited Malawi October 1-5 to engage government leaders, civil society partners, and American Peace Corps Volunteers across Malawi to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Peace Corps Response Program.  The Peace Corps Response Program sends experienced American professionals to undertake short-term, high-impact service assignments in communities around Malawi and the world.  Since 1963, more than 2,840 American Peace Corps volunteers have partnered with Malawians to build capacity in the areas of health, the environment, and education. There are currently 129 Peace Corps volunteers serving in Malawi. Learn more at:
