A U.S. Congressional delegation led by Senator James Inhofe visited Malawi on February 19. The delegation met with President Arthur Peter Mutharika to discuss U.S.-Malawi relations, particularly related to security cooperation. The delegation also met with Malawian members of parliament. The delegation reaffirmed the strong partnership between the U.S. and Malawi and thanked President Mutharika and Malawian parliamentary leaders for the Malawi Defense Force’s noteworthy contributions to United Nations peacekeeping missions on the African continent.
