Health and Travel Alert – U.S. Embassy Lilongwe, Malawi (July 29, 2020)

Location: Malawi

Event: Seats Available on August 4th Flight and Alternate Option

The U.S. Embassy is aware of two transportation options in and out of Malawi that we would like to share with you.

Ulendo Travel Now is currently offering to arrange charter flights from Lilongwe to Lusaka and connecting flights out of Lusaka. For booking related inquiries, contact Ulendo Travel Now directly via phone at +265-887-0096-250 or +265-999-970-700.

Satguru Travel has been operating special charter flights via Ethiopian Airlines from Lilongwe to Addis Ababa and the next flight is scheduled for on or around Tuesday, August 4, 2020.  For bookings, please contact Satguru Travel by signing up via their form at https://forms.gle/hbJaAckSCvUkBPW59.

This flight will allow foreign nationals residing in Malawi to return to their home country and at the same time allow Malawians and Malawian Residents (Holders of Valid TEP/PRP/BRP) to enter Malawi.

Passengers are responsible for booking their own onward travel to the United States, but may arrange with Satguru as well. Please note that travelers transiting through Addis Ababa with a layover of more than 24 hours must go to one of the government-owned quarantine hotels at their own expense and may be subject to 14 days quarantine. Travelers should arrange an itinerary through the Addis airport with minimal layover.

Passengers traveling to the United States should be U.S. Citizens or Legal Permanent Residents and their immediate family members with valid entry documents for the United States.
