Event: A civil society group, known as Malawi First Pressure Group of Concerned Citizens, has scheduled a peaceful demonstration on Thursday, September 7, 2023. The same group led a protest on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, which resulted in a clash with another group. The protest ended when Malawian Police deployed tear gas to disperse the crowds. Information about this demonstration is slowly developing. Traffic may be disrupted along the route, and it is always possible for crowds to grow and turn violent without warning. Tear gas may be deployed to disperse large crowds.
