DREAMS Innovation in Malawi

U.S. Ambassador Virginia Palmer strikes a pose with the girls

The U.S. Government’s DREAMS Innovation Challenge, which uses new approaches to reduce HIV infections, is awarding $18.6 million for new projects in Zomba and Machinga districts.  This is in addition to the $14 million of DREAMS programs in Malawi previously announced.  New activities will include support for vocational training and access to loans for small business start-ups; support for a confidential hotline for young people needing information and referrals about sexual health; and support for secondary school scholarships to keep girls in school.  Learn more at:  http://www.pepfar.gov/partnerships/ppp/dreams/
